on may 23, 2010 Port Fourchon, Louisiana was faced with a serious problem, an oil spill. it covered the beach. poor innocent animals were harmed and many washed a shore dead covered in oil. the cost of Louisiana is home to hundreds of herons, brown pelicans, terns, gulls, and roseate spoonbills who have to sit an die slowly because they are unable to fly away do to the oil covering them. clean up crews are working hard to make the ocean safe and beautiful once again.
